Ieri sera al Dolby Theatre di Los Angeles si è svolta l’attesissima cerimonia degli Oscar. Quest’anno, l’evento più e glamour e atteso dalle star di tutto il mondo, verrà ricordato per la storica vittoria del film sudcoreano Parasite. Storica perché per la prima volta un film non americano vince il premio nella categoria più importante, quella di miglior film. Non solo, il film del regista sudcoreano Bong Joon-ho si aggiudica anche il premio come miglior regia, miglior film straniero e miglior sceneggiatura originale. Vincono la statuetta come Miglior attore e attrice protagonista Joaquin Phoenix e Renée Zellweger per le loro magistrali interpretazioni in Joker e Judy. Miglior attore e attrice non protagonista per Brad Pitt con C’era una volta… a Hollywood e Laura Dern con Marriage Story. Invece 1917, film dato per favorito, ha vinto solo 3 premi minori su 10 candidature. Grande delusione anche per Martin Scorsese che con il suo The Irishman non riesce a portare a casa nessuna delle 10 statuette per cui era nominato.
Nel corso della serata non sono mancate le performance. Quella più spettacolare è stata certamente quella a sorpresa del rapper Eminem, che si è esibito sulle note della sua celebre Lose Yourself, grazie alla quale vinse l’Oscar come miglior canzone nel 2003 per il film 8 Mile. Commovente anche l’esibizione della giovanissima Billie Eilish che ha cantato Yesterday dei Beatles, durante la quale sono stati ricordati, tra gli altri, Koby Bryant e Kirk Douglas. Immancabile poi quella di Elton John che con la sua bellissima (I’m Gonna) Love Again si è aggiudicato la statuetta come miglior canzone per il film Rocketman.
